Gaynor Cherieann is an adoptee from the era when babies were taken from their birth mums because they were usually unmarried and often young.

Gaynor lives in Northampton with her husband and dog, she has four grown-up children and six grandchildren, and works part-time time which keeps her very busy.

Of course, I've always ‘celebrated’ my birthday on the 30th. The word celebrated is in inverted commas for a reason as I've always disliked birthdays.

As I write this I'm about 10% into writing my experiences growing up as an adoptee. I was adopted as baby in 1973.
