Hello!

I’m Andy Wallis AKA ‘Who’s Wally?’

I’m an adoptee, Dad of three grown-up kids, a writer, musician/guitarist, photographer, and a bit of an amateur guitar maker/woodworker.

I live in Grantham, Lincolnshire, in the UK, where Sir Isaac Newton was educated, and Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was born and raised.

I developed this website to originally publish a blog, as well as promote my book, Who’s Wally? - Adoption, Brian, and Me.

I have struggled throughout my life with depression, anxiety, a general lack of self-esteem, and a sense of belonging. In 2023, I wrote the book as a form of self-help therapy. I soon came to realise that most of what I’ve dealt with has its origins in me being an adoptee.

I’m a creative soul who needs a project to get obsessed with, and this site serves as a place for me to share the contents of my head, whether it be a blog post, a poem, a photograph, or even a song.

This years (2026) new obsession/exciting project has been writing music. I shared this with Em Bacon, and we release our tracks under the name ‘A+E’

You can find my writing on the blog here, and my photography on my Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as on my Flickr page.

Our music is made at home, just for the hell of it, and released through ‘Who’s Wally Music’. Find it on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music, wherever you stream.

Thanks for stopping by.

I'd not thought about being adopted much; it's just something that happened to that child fifty years ago. It seems there’s a lot more to it.

More info and links to buy the book.

I used to take photographs professionally, as well as teach it. Now I just do it for fun.

Are you an adopted or fostered adult living in or around Grantham?

I’ve teamed up with The Bhive Community Hub to offer adoptees and fostered adults a space to meet, chat, and support others just like you and me.
